Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL

When You Say “Stress-Free Remodeling” What Specifically Does That Mean?

It’s not a catchy slogan or a cute phrase; it’s the absolute truth. It has to do with how we communicate with you before, during, and after the job; it has to do with our relentless attention to detail, and the years of experience that our team has both on your kind of project and working together as a team. It means that we have a 3,800 square foot showroom that saves you from running all over town looking for products. It means that we’ll come in “on quote,” finish when we say we’ll finish, and make it so you don’t have to worry about ANYTHING.

How Are Your Prices? Are You On The High, Medium, or Low End Of The Spectrum?

Generally speaking, we’re on the high end of medium. There is no question you can find contractors who will quote you less money—we won’t even attempt to match them in most cases. We offer a fair price on a great job that you will love for years to come. We specialize in quality, reliability, and beauty… but don’t be scared off—if you’re like any of our 4,000 previous customers, you’ll be glad you paid a little more to do the job right, on time, and worry-free.

How Can I Know Ahead Of Time If I Can Trust A Remodeler?

Sometimes it’s hard to tell. The real bozos are easy to pick out… but what’s harder to detect are the contractors who are basically “good guys” but who might be experiencing financial difficulties, or who might be overbooked, or who might have quoted your job too low and have to cut corners to make up for it. We’ve developed the Code of Ethics & Competency Contractor Standards guide to help you judge a remodeler in terms of their financial stability, reputations, professionalism, and workmanship. Use this as a guide to help you make a decision.

What Kind Of Financing Options To You Offer?

Most of our customers pay cash or get a loan for their project through a third-party lender (bank, credit union, etc.). If you have need of financing options, please feel free to call our office or talk to one of our sales representatives about options.

I’ve Heard Horror Stories Of Remodeling Budget Overruns. How Can You Protect Me From These?

The key is estimating the job thoroughly on the front end, and the ability to do that properly comes mostly from experience. We’ve done so many remodeling projects in the last 30 years that we have a VERY good handle on exactly what a given job is going to entail, and we’ll give you a detailed estimate so you can review it. The only way the price will go UP is if you (the customer) decide to add things mid-job. We strive to work through as many alternatives and options on the front end as possible to minimize your desire to make changes later.

How Long Have You Been In Business And How Many Jobs Have You Completed?

Our first project was in 1982, and we’ve completed over 9,000 projects of all types and sizes since then. To get a feel for the depth and breadth of our abilities and experience, please check our gallery pages.

KITCHENS

I Don’t Have $100,000 For A New Kitchen. What Are My Options?

We hear this a lot—people think that they’ve got to have a certain minimum amount of money to even think about tackling a project. While it’s true that some kitchens can be very expensive, you’d be surprised at what you can do for $10,000, $20,000, or whatever number you have available. Give us a call and we can explore the best options for whatever budget you’re on.

How Long Will I Be Without Use Of My Kitchen During The Remodeling?

Naturally, this is going to depend on the nature and scope of the project. We have a new countertop installing process that will allow you to have a brand new look in one day in most cases. Generally a full kitchen remodeling job is going to require a longer downtime. We’ll give you a time estimate at the same time we give you a cost estimate so you’ll know what to expect, and can plan accordingly.

My Kitchen Is Really Small—What Can Be Done To Open It Up?

As a remodeling and design firm, we can see if removing a wall or adding a bump out can make it feel bigger and function better.

What Are Some Recommendations For Smaller Budgets?

We came up with the idea of Re-Top to remove and replace outdated kitchen countertops in one day. It's easy on the budget and you are not dealing with a large construction project.

What Are Some Recommendations For Larger Budgets?

We have a custom line of cabinets with a number of features to design around your personality.

BATHROOMS

What’s Tub & Tile Replacement?

Tub & tile replacement is what people typically think of when they think about bathroom remodeling—ripping out everything down to the drywall and floorboards, and installing a new tub and vanity, then meticulously adding tile floors and walls. The tiling portion of the project takes several days because the tiles have to have time to dry in place properly. Acrylic wall panels require less installation time and the expense of ceramic tile.

Will I Have To Run All Over Town Looking For Fixtures, Materials, Etc.?

No! We have the largest remodeling showroom in Goshen—3,800 square feet of plumbing fixtures, cabinet styles, flooring, vanities, and more. Instead of wasting your weekends driving, just come in to our showroom and you can choose everything in an hour or two.

What Kind Of Warranty Do Your Bathrooms Carry?

We provide a 5 year bathroom warranty.

DECKS

What Makes Your Decks So Special?

Simple: Trex composite decking material. You get the look and feel of real wood, with very little maintenance and wear problems. Your deck will look as good years from now as it does the first day its installed. Other composite decking materials have some advantages over wood, but still fall short of the Trex standard for durability, aesthetics, and cost effectiveness.
